Hi all! It’s Me!

You’re friendly neighbor blogger “change-a-holic” extraordinaire! :) I tossed and turned last night during my “suppose to be” time of sleep. Yes, I was seeing Blogger and WordPress in my sleep. Codes, widgets, gadgets galore! I can’t do this anymore. The thought of impending changes to this blog, are not going to happen. I am CUTTING THE DAMN STRINGS!

I have a nice lil subscriber base over on Blogger, in a very short time I may add. I’ve been complimented on my blog name. It’s time to suck it up, quit whining about it, and go on with it! Yes, I’ll be brushing up on my html and css skills, I’ll have to. I’ll miss WordPress and maybe in the future, I’ll come back. One can only see………

There, it’s been done. WordPress no more. Back to Blogger fun (hehe). No more back and forth. I can’t allow myself to be drained no more about this. Be done and move on. A new challenge! The world of html and Blogger template coding! Oh my!

So farewell to WordPress and to Four-Legged Mom. The blog will remain in tact for referencing back of course. I will revisit some of the blogs from here on my Pibbles & the Hormonal Heathen blog. I am now up for the Challenge! I look forward to it! I’m embracing it! Woo to the Hoo baby!!!

…off to Blogger land….I leave behind a year of fun on wordpress…………..come join me!

Changing your webby url

Yes, so I’m contemplating doing that with this blog, as a name change is coming. Oh yeah? You didn’t hear? I’m sorry to those who changed links and everything else but my heart is at WordPress. So much more to do with it and so much easier than Blogger. Truly am sorry again to those who’ve changed urls on blog rolls and stuff. Forgive me?

Anyway, back the the url changy. OMG! I don’t know if I can! I’m nervous. I get this link Moving WordPress from BlueHost support. Yes, BlueHost is my super hosting webby people. They rock btw. So back to this linky, in reading it, I got very nervous about attempting my url change. I’m freaking out already, especially after almost losing this website earlier due to a 404 admin login error. Eeek!

So, I’m reaching out to you. My webby’s, my friends, my wordpress enthusiasts…………have any of you changed the url on your self-hosted wordpress blog and if so, was it easier than the instructions say?

Isn’t it much easier just to change the name of the blog and leave the url? :)

You don’t know, until you try it

How  many times have you tried something new? Even though the “old” worked just fine. But you just had to try the “new”. And try again and again at the “new”, only to find yourself going back to the “old”?

Is it in our nature to see if there are better ways of doing something? Better ways that may fit us better? Only, again, to come back to the original way because, after all, it was best to begin with.

You possibly thought the grass may be greener for whatever reason, and possibly it may have been to some extent, but the old, familiar way was very functional, very comforting, and overall still the greener of the two.

Yes, I have. I’ll admit to screwing up here and there with my blogs. Always thinking there is a better way, yet the original way was the most effective after all.

How many times do you try until you give up? How many times before those around you give up?

The answers to those questions, I do not know. I’ve learned over the years that Trial & Error work best. You can not see if the other way is greener, unless you try.

I have tried and tried and yet I still come back to the old. The old, which could use a revamping or upgrading a bit, but yet it is still functional.

So if you haven’t guessed what I’m specifically talking about, is my blog. I have gone back to Blogger and am not happy at all. Although the perk of having Google Friend Connect (GFC)  is fabulous, the idea of farking up the template (as I’ve already done twice now), outweighs the friendliness and convenience of GFC.

WordPress has the most fabulous plug-ins AND THEY WORK! (or at least for me they have) Themes are easily uploaded and, for the most part, easily customizable.

There are perks to both platforms however, after being so long on WordPress, I have grown accustomed to the perks and ease.

In all honesty, I miss WordPress. I miss my blog. How many times do my readers and friends follow me around before they kick me in my bum and tell me to stop! I have a good thing, quit farking it up?

I say this to you know, as I am totally ready to cut the Blogger strings……..for good. I have a fabulous new blog name “Pibbles & the Hormonal Heathen”. I’d like to rename Four-Legged Mom with it. My platform is perfect here.

What’s in a name change? New content, possibly more risque? A broader audience with larger reader base and more interaction via comments? How can one lose?

Will you have me back here? ;)

~~~~~
From the bottom of my heart, I apologize for going back and forth with this and any discomfort or heartache it may have caused you. You have my permission to kick me squarely in my bum. Matter a fact, if I ever talk about a change of “platform” again, disown me. :)
